Description and Implementation
CAPA Characteristics
- Individualized printed problem assignments for each student.
- Students work problems in conventional way.
Numerical or Multiple Choice.
- Students Login to CAPA servers from any terminal on the University
network. They can read the text of each question and enter their answer.
- Immediate response as to whether their answer is correct.
- If incorrect, a hint is avaliable, and students can redo the problem
and try again without limit until a certain day and time.
- Trials
- Physics 201 and 202 in Fall and Winter quarters of 1994-95.
- Implementation for 1996-97
- Physics 201, 202, 203 (about 700 students)
- Physics 251, 252, 253 (about 500 students)
- Chemistry 151, 152, 153 (about 1,200 students)
